Yoga for Depression
There was a time when I partied way to much. Hung out with the wrong people. Life seemed fun and exciting yet as fast as it all came, it went. Then I was left alone, feeling empty, with no energy to do anything.
A friend invited me to yoga. At first one class a day was all I really did in a day. Understanding that my body and mind was weakened from to much partying I was okay with that. I lacked any future goals or projects. Yoga became my project. Each new class brought something new. I began to see my body change and mind became a little more clear. I remember the first time I got up into a full bridge pose Setu Bandha Sarvangasana. It was a with great struck I pushed up and held myself in a wiggling backbend with strength and pride.
Yoga helped me feel confident in myself. As my strength grew so did my mindfulness and care for my body. Eating healthy became natural. Having a constant yoga practice along with a healthy diet helped lift me out of a really bad depression. Feeling more confident in myself I joined my schools newspaper, made videos, became a video editor, now I work as a newspaper photographer. My life seems to have a purpose. I work on projects and try my best to give back to the world around me.
Yoga helped me through a heard time. If you are feeling low. Start by doing 20 minutes a day. Share your favorite yoga videos here.
This morning I did this video:
The flow itself is very good morning practice. The instruction is not the best so you need to watch video to follow along.

Morning Yoga to refresh and rejuvenate your body
Just finished this slow form Vinyasa style yoga video. Listening to my body I sent my inner intentions to strength and stability. It's moderately challenging for a beginner. The yoga video challenges the core, flexibility and stamina. It is a great video to get the heart pumping and body ready for the day. This video includes vinyasa flows with low and high lunges. The video is easy to follow and good for someone just stepping back into yoga.

40 min Yoga Break: Back Stretch and Strengthen
Sitting at my desk for hours, blogging. It's time to stretch! Today, my back is burning. To relieve the pain in my back I found this yoga video. It is a intermediate level yoga vinyasa flow 40 minute workout.
This video has a lot of unique positions and flow sequences. I had to add in more downward dogs to really help stretch out my back. Consider this video more of a workout than a stretch session. The Workout

Yoga When you want Where you Want: Yoga Asap
Welcome to Yoga ASAP!
Yoga Asap is a yoga blog that reviews and shares free yoga videos. You do not have to be a gym member or pay subscriptions to online yoga studios to practice yoga because there are so many free yoga videos online.
I have been doing yoga for 3 years. My first yoga experience was at a gym, where I took beginning, restorative, Iyengar, and Vinyasa yoga. Iyengar yoga helped me develop my form and a better understand of my body alignment. Vinyasa showed me how to use my breath to pace through a high intensity stretch and strengthen session. In beginning and restorative yoga I used the form I learned from Iyengar and the breathing practices I learned in Vinyasa for a relaxing healing experience. Instead of competing, yoga is about yourself, your body, and where you are now. There are benefits in taking group yoga classes, yet a lot of times I felt embarrassed and just wanted to practice yoga in my own space. Then my gym membership expired and I went to the internet for quick yoga pick me ups throughout the day.
There are so many free yoga videos. During the day, when the mood strikes, I search for yoga workouts, so I can exercise at home when I'm ready. On Yoga Asap I will post, review, and share my favorite online yoga videos. Without further a due here is my first free yoga video:
